However, it is worth a detour, this modern city is today world famous for its Hassan II tower, the largest building in the city. Meknes is also one of the most beautiful imperial cities of Morocco. Located 60 km from Fez, Meknes was shaped in the image of Sultan Moulay Ismael, who was often compared to his contemporary Louis XIV for having carried out great works in the city. Today, with its palaces, mosques, fountains, terraces, gardens, stables and stores, Meknes continues to feed the imagination of visitors about its glorious past. You can also recharge your batteries by staying in a Meknes rental in the green countryside, a generous countryside with a breathtaking view of olive trees and the ancient Roman city of Volubilis.
Head to Fez, this cultural city, is one of the most fascinating imperial cities of Morocco. Between visiting the Marinid tombs and the ruined necropolis, Fez reveals itself both outside and inside the ramparts. Fez can be visited all year round, but spring and autumn are the most pleasant seasons to stay.
