Indeed, it is one of the most picturesque towns at the base of the Rif Mountains. Before continuing on to Fez, where you will spend the night in a typical Moroccan riad, you will have lunch in the medina of Chefchaouen, which features a Spanish-style square surrounded by numerous quaint gift stores.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez
We will then depart for our 8-day trip from Tangier to southern Morocco, which will take us to Volubilis. Border crossings are made at Wazan and other Rif villages. We will visit the Roman remains of Volubilis and discover information about a Moroccan archaeological site. We will then head to Meknes, whose history dates back to the 17th century, after touring its ruins. We will have lunch there before exploring the ancient walls of the medina (Bab El Mansour) and visiting the shrine of Moulay Ismail. Finally, after the trip to Meknes. Overnight in a riad in Fez.

Day 3: Fes – Discover the city of Fez
You will begin your tour of Morocco’s oldest city after breakfast at your riad. Start exploring its confined alleys and streets. Therefore, the first stop of our tour is the first 16th century Mellah built in Morocco, the Jewish headquarters, and the entrance to the Royal Palace. Thus, we will make sure you see all the notable historical and cultural landmarks of the area, such as the renowned Al Qaraouine University, which is the oldest in the area, the tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and the Mausoleum of Mulay Idriss. After lunch, you will visit the tile cooperative. You will then enjoy a breathtaking aerial perspective of the entire medina of Fez.

Day 4: fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga – Desert
After breakfast at your Riad, you will travel to Merzouga via Errachidia and Erfoud. In fact, as you travel through the Ziz Gorge and the interesting Tiz Ntalghamt pass, you will be able to see the High Atlas plateau. You will see how the terrain transforms as you approach the town of Errachidia, where you will have lunch and experience the welcoming Berber hospitality. You will then head to Erfoud and Rissani through the verdant Ziz Valley, stopping at times to take in the sweeping views. Later in the day you will arrive in Merzouga. Before riding a camel to a desert camp to spend the night with Berber music and sandboarding, you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea.

Day 5: Desert – Rissani – Toudra Gorges – Dades Gorges
To see the impressive sunrise over the Saharan dunes, you will have to get up early. We will return to our camp for breakfast and shower. Then, we will continue our 8 days trip from Tangier to the south of Morocco through the Saghro Mountains. Afterwards, we will go to Todra Gorge to enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch and a quick walk through the gorge before continuing to the Dades Valley for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast, we will begin our 8-day journey from Tangier to southern Morocco. Through the Dades Valley and on to Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. There are plenty of opportunities to take some of the best photos of your vacation along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs”, which runs through the Dades Valley. Afterwards, we will break for lunch at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This is the largest Kasbah in Morocco to begin with. It was built at the beginning of the century by T-hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chiefs. On his arduous journey from the Sahara to Marrakech, it was one of his resting places. The Kasbah is now recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. In the afternoon we continue to Marrakech.

Day 7: Marrakech – Explore the Red City
You can start exploring Marrakech, the “red city” of Morocco, after breakfast at the Riad. So that you can visit the most important historical and cultural sites, we will be sure to include them in our 8-day itinerary from Tangier to southern Morocco. Among the things to see are the Bahia Palace, the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower and the Saadian Tombs. After lunch at a restaurant near the square, you will stroll through the souks and see hundreds of handicrafts. The rest of the afternoon will be free to continue exploring the city on your own.

8 days in Morocco

8 days on the road discovering the incredible landscapes of Morocco, from the green Ifrane, to the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through the charming and sweet desert of Erg Chebbi, the ancient Kasbahs and the colorful Suks. A perfect organization by Tourism in Morocco, who accompanied us in our choice: comfortable cars, a rich and varied program and excellent hotels. But above all, thanks to Hamid, our young Moroccan escort, whose professionalism and friendliness, positivity and kindness made our trip very pleasant. A delightful experience.
