Day 1: Tangier - Chefchaouen
We start our trip with the pick up from Tangier airport, and head towards Chefchaouen or Chaouen as many call it, located in the only transcontinental natural park declared a natural biosphere reserve. A city painted white and blue, that’s why they call it the blue pearl, populated by people of knowledge, kindness and respect, it offers the visitor stunning cityscapes, precious handmade specimens, other local foods and a peace and serenity that nowadays are hard to find. Overnight in Riad.
Day 2: Chechaouen - Volubilis - Fez
On the second day in 6 days tour in Morocco, we leave the wonderful city of Chefchaouen and head to Fez via Volubilis, the first city of the empire, which houses one of the oldest universities in the world. Day 3: fez - Ifrane - Midelt - Merzouga - Desert
On the third day, we begin our guided tour of the Medina of Fez, enjoying its streets and souks. Leaving the city of Fez, the next stop will be in Ifrane, known as “Moroccan Switzerland” for its architecture of houses, and Azrou, one of the most famous Berber cities of Morocco. We will cross the valley and Garganas de Ziz, which will lead us to Erfoud, famous for its fossils. Arriving in the desert, where we will change 4 × 4 by camels, we will have a pleasant walk of about two hours through the desert dunes until we reach the Himas camp in the heart of the desert, where I will be received, in the tradition of the desert. Day 4: Desert Merzouga
This will be a full day in the desert. After a delicious breakfast at the camp we will go on an excursion to visit a nomadic family and get to know their way of life, having the possibility to share and learn a different way of living. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to meet them and even have tea with them.
Then, walking in the dunes of Erg Chebbi, we will reach the village of Khamlia, where most of its inhabitants come from Mali. In Gnaoua’s house we will enjoy a traditional music show.
We will have lunch there and then return to the hotel which is located near the dunes. Having a free afternoon to stroll quietly through the endless sea of dunes and witness the magical and stunning sunset that can only be seen from the desert.
Day 5: Desert - Rissani - Toudra valley - Dades valley
On this day, get up early to see the sunrise over the sand dunes. After breakfast, we will depart to Rissani where we will visit its market, which houses the largest market in this area. We will pass in the Berber village of Al-Nif, Tinghir and many other places where we will enjoy different landscapes. Then we will head to one of the highlights of the south: Todra Gorge or the Tougha Gorges, not far from Tinghir, the gorge is one of the best destinations in Morocco. You should have lunch at the site and walk half an hour to see and appreciate the gorges in detail. In the afternoon, we will continue to the Dades Valley also known as the Valley of the Figure. We will arrive at the Dades Gorges. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 6: Dades valley - Marrakech
After breakfast we will leave Gorges de Dadès. We will pass through the valleys of Roses, Qalaat Magona. We will visit the Kasbah AMREDILE, until we reach Ouarzazate where we will have lunch. In the afternoon, we will take the road to Marrakech, crossing the pass of Tizi Nishka (2260 m) to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This wonderful fortified village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous Kasbahs in the Kingdom. We will go to Marrakech in the afternoon.
