places to spend Christmas in Morocco

Christmas in Morocco is a unique and original experience because, although it is a mostly Muslim country, as Christmas approaches, it is increasingly common to find the characteristic decoration of these dates, especially in hotels and shopping malls. Although in general Moroccans do not celebrate Christmas, there is a Catholic minority, so religious celebrations can be found throughout the country. A curious fact is that since the end of November in stores like Carrefour, cashiers are dressed in white and red and wear Santa Claus hats, another curious thing is that it is possible to find typical sweets of this time as Ferrero Rocher. But the most important thing if you decide to visit Morocco at Christmas is that you can enjoy a trip totally different from anything you have experienced elsewhere.

As you can see, there are many reasons for Morocco to be your best choice for your next Christmas vacations.

An amazing experience in Morocco with our guide Lahou, who was very helpful: he went out of his way to get us motion sickness pills when he noticed we were getting carsick one day, and always offered to share local snacks with us along the way. His recommendations for restaurants and experiences were also spot on. The music playlist in the car was also great. The highlight was riding camels in the Sahara desert and enjoying the silence and the stars: a magical experience. The new friends we met along the way were also very kind and generous in sharing their amazing music, culture and traditions. Thanks to Tourism in Morocco (Hamed and team) for their smooth communication and professionalism, making the whole planning experience seamless. We will definitely come back to spend more days in the Sahara desert.

Spending Christmas in Morocco is amazing ! It is the first time we come to Morocco and we have seen many beautiful landscapes. Our driver, Hamid is very kind and does his best to make jokes during the trips to different cities. He also takes care of us and keeps us safe. My favorite part is camping in the Sahara desert, the beautiful coast of Essaouira and cosmopolitan Casablanca. The Moroccan architecture is beautiful 😍 and the people are very welcoming and warm. They were very endearing and we enjoyed making new friends along the way - highly recommended for a first time in Morocco!
